The Indisputable Return Of Christ
by Bro. Peter Rahme

“If we who are [abiding] in Christ have hope only in this life and that is all, then we are of all people most miserable and to be pitied.” 1 Corinthians 15:19 (AMP)

If it were not for the experiential knowledge we all received when we accepted Christ, the conviction in our hearts for doing right and the continuing prompting of the Spirit of God drawing us to Himself, then it would be hard in the natural to hope for the return of Jesus Christ.

It is those, however, who have not experienced the love of God and the grace of Christ who are be pitied. They see Christianity as a waste of time, a waste of life and having to give up all of the pleasures of this world. Nothing could be further from the truth! Serving Christ and living for Him is the most exciting and fulfilling lifestyle. There is no fear of death and tranquility and hope live within us. Glory to God for His patience and unconditional love for such hard-hearted people as we all were.

God is the God of hope and His Spirit is the guarantee and deposit for our future. 2 Corinthians 5:5 says “Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee”. The guarantee is a pledge, i.e. part of the purchase-money or property given in advance as security for the rest. (Strong’s)

“Take notice! I tell you a mystery (a secret truth, an event decreed by the hidden purpose or counsel of God). We shall not all fall asleep [in death], but we shall all be changed (transformed) 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the [sound of the] last trumpet call. For a trumpet will sound, and the dead [in Christ] will be raised imperishable (free and immune from decay), and we shall be changed (transformed).”  1 Corinthians 15:51-52 (AMP)

God promised us in the book of Genesis 3:15 that He would send us a redeemer who would crush the head of our enemy, Satan. He would do it through the one who was to be born of the seed of a woman; born of a virgin. Isaiah 7:14 says, “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel” which is translated, "God with us". (Matthew 1:23)

Four thousand years went by, but God the Father kept His Word and fulfilled His promise by sending His Son, so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

Jesus fulfilled every prophecy relating to His first coming. The second coming will be no different, He will not be early, nor will He be late, but He will be on time, just as He was with His first coming. Hallelujah!

Beside the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the second coming is the greatest theme in the entire Bible. There are hundreds of scriptures in the Old Testament prophesying Christ’s first coming, and there are over two thousand more verses describing the second coming of Christ. There is no doubt in my mind that Christ will return, and every prophecy - every one of God’s promises to His people will be fulfilled.

Jesus Can Not Lie
Whatever Jesus promised us in His Word He has fulfilled and He will complete it by the end of this age. Here are just a few promises we can stand on:

  • He is upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe by His mighty word of power.
  • He told His disciples at least ten times that He would rise on the third day after being crucified - He did.
  • He said He was going to send the promise of His Father, the Holy Spirit - He did.
  • He said there will be wars and rumors of wars before His coming - there are wars and rumors of wars throughout the world.
  • We can take courage because Jesus said in John 14:3, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”

“If there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, then your faith is useless, and you are still under condemnation for your sins. 18 In that case, all who have died believing in Christ have perished! 19 And if we have hope in Christ only for this life, we are the most miserable people in the world.” 1 Corinthians 15:16-19 (NLT)

Are you ready for the second coming of the Lord? If you have made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life then there is life after death for you. For those who have not, unfortunately there are no second chances for spending eternity with Him once they have left this earth. God has been patient with people for thousands of years. We have His Word, His Son and His Spirit who all lead us to Him, therefore we have no excuse.

If you are not sure that you will be caught up with Him in The second coming, then today is the day of salvation. Today is the day to make Jesus the Lord of your life. To help you in your decision click here.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
