Wonderful Jesus
by Bro. Peter Rahme
Christmas! It’s that time of the year when most people are very busy shopping, cooking and attending functions.
There are those who truly understand and appreciate the meaning of Christmas. Then there are those who will attend a church service or Christmas pageant and feel good for having done so.
And then there are certain groups who are working very hard to get rid of anything remotely related to the “Christ” of Christmas. God, however, gave us His Son and once we have received and accepted Him, there is no group or law on earth that can remove Him from our hearts or from the public eye! Hallelujah!
Isaiah 9:6 says “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
We celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ but there are many who will ask the question “Who is this man that Christians celebrate and honor?”
Millions of people go to church every week. They pray to a God they have not met and they have little or no knowledge of Him, or of His awesome ways.
His loving Son, Jesus, came to set all captives free and to bring life, light and hope for all of mankind and the question is still asked to this day:
WHO IS THIS JESUS?
Allow me to give you a brief glimpse of who this wonderful Man of Galilee is:
- He is the savior of the world
- Not only is He the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords,
- He is also the Prince of Peace
- The Great I AM
- The character of God’s substance
- He’s full of grace and truth
He’s the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness
- He’s the Brightness of God’s Glory
- In Him is life, light and love
- He’s the power that holds everything together
- He’s also the excellence of the power of God
- He’s both the Lamb and Lion of God
- He put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself
- He is pure
- In Him there is no sin
- He is majestic – He is unique
- He is unparalleled
- He is and He always will be
- The first and the last
- The beginning and the end
- He still saves, heals, delivers and is interceding for you and me
- This is our awesome God who is for us – therefore who can be against us? Hallelujah!
There is an urgency to share the gift of Jesus in our daily lives, and not only at Christmas-time. The world population is growing at an alarming rate – we have a responsibility to rise up and do our part to fulfill the Great Commission.
“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.” Matthew 28:18-20
Dyllis and I and our family pray that you and yours are abundantly blessed this Christmas, and in the New Year may you prosper and be in good health even as your soul prospers. Always remember, the best gift you can give anyone is an introduction to the Lord Jesus Christ! Grab that opportunity when it arises with friends and family this Christmas!
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
