Bearing Fruit

“You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.  15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.  16 You did not choose Me , but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.”  John 15:14-16

Jesus hand-picked and selected you personally so that you should go and bear fruit. He appointed you so that you will not be ashamed to testify of Him and be a witness of His love, grace and mercy. In days gone by, some viewed religion or Christianity as being for elderly women and children. However, there is a breed of God’s people in this hour and in these last days who are growing in boldness and courage. They are not afraid or ashamed to stand up in the marketplace, in their workplace, in the streets, in the shopping malls or wherever they are, and testify of the goodness and mercy of God. The Gospel is all about Jesus and what He has done for us and needs to be spread like wildfire. Hallelujah!

Today some of the greatest athletes worldwide are standing up to testify to the fact that since they accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior, they have gone from rags to riches, from being a mediocre sports person to a champion. The name of Jesus is on the lips of presidents, prime ministers, heads of state, politicians. God is not a respecter of persons – He gives new life in Christ to anyone who seeks Him and calls on the name of Jesus.

"While we were yet in weakness [powerless to help ourselves], at the fitting time Christ died for (in behalf of) the ungodly.7 Now it is an extraordinary thing for one to give his life even for an upright man, though perhaps for a noble and lovable and generous benefactor someone might even dare to die. 8 But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us." Romans 5:6-8 (AMP)

Jesus Christ of Nazareth is Lord of all, whether people want to believe it or not - they will find out sooner or later. I would rather it be sooner, because once a person leaves this earth, it is too late. Jesus said in John 3:3 "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." Jesus cannot lie. If He lies once, the universe will become chaotic - because He spoke the cosmos into existence and it is held together by the word of His power.

“He is the sole expression of the glory of God [the Light-being, the out-raying or radiance of the divine], and He is the perfect imprint and very image of [God's] nature, upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe by His mighty word of power. When He had by offering Himself accomplished our cleansing of sins and riddance of guilt, He sat down at the right hand of the divine Majesty on high…” Hebrews 1:3 (AMP)

Each and every person is valuable and precious to the Savior of the world. He knows our pain and suffering, our infirmities and our weaknesses because this is what He endured on the cross for us. You have got to see your worth, how important you are to God and to His kingdom. He is not holding your sins and your past in His mighty hand, but your very precious and eternal life! Hallelujah!

Just think about this for a moment, before we were born, Jesus had already died for us and shed His blood on the cross of Calvary. God loves you and me so much, that He sent His son to be our substitute and the sacrifice for our sins so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. This is divine grace being manifested to a lost and hopeless world.

What a privilege to be a child of the Most High God, an heir of God and a joint-heir with Christ! (Galatians 4:7 and Romans 8:17)  Let us not waste this priceless and glorious inheritance by being pew-warmers or armchair Christians. Let’s get out into world around usand share the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! In Matthew 5:14-15 Jesus said,"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden”.

Just as a lighthouse is a beacon or signal to guide ships that may be off course, so are we like a beacon, shining forth with the love of God to bring hope and assurance, guiding the lost and weary soul back to Christ.

Beacon as defined in TheFreeDictionary.com:

1. A signaling or guiding device, such as a lighthouse, located on a coast.

2. A radio transmitter that emits a characteristic guidance signal for aircraft.

3. A source of guidance or inspiration.

4. A signal fire, especially one used to warn of an enemy's approach.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
