Stepping Out Boldly
“The wicked flee when no man pursues them, but the [uncompromisingly] righteous are bold as a lion.” Proverbs 28:1 (AMP)
When we received the Lord Jesus Christ, we became the righteousness of God in Christ and therefore we became as bold as a lion. How did we become righteous? 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, “For God took the sinless Christ and . . . poured God's goodness into us, literally, ‘Him who knew no sin, he made sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in him.’" TLB
Therefore, when we became righteous, we received boldness and He also gave us a spirit of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control. Glory to God, what more could we need?
“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:7 (AMP)
Now is the time for the Body of Christ to rise up and DO something to make a difference in the world around them. If the Body of Christ would get the revelation of their inheritance in Christ, and that there is no failure in God, we will saturate the earth with the Gospel of Christ, set the captives free and a great harvest of souls will be swept into the Kingdom of God.
We are as bold as a lion
1 Samuel 17:33-35 tells us how David delivered a lamb out the lion’s mouth. Can you imagine David literally taking a lamb out of a lion’s mouth and killing the lion? I don’t know about you, saints, but I believe the whole Bible, and I believe that what’s in it applies to me! When you know who you are in Christ, you can boldly step out in that knowledge and in the power of the Holy Spirit and do exploits for God.
In January of 1986 the Lord said to me, “I want you to teach my people how to be strong, bold and courageous and not dismayed for I am with them always.” This instruction burns in my heart and as we minister across the country and around the world, we are blessed to see the Word taking root in people’s hearts as they begin to rise up in boldness to reach out to the lost and hurting.
Burning with the Spirit
“Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor; be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord.” Romans 12:11 (AMP) (Click here if you would like to read a teaching on this subject)
Saints, it’s you and I that God is talking about in Hebrews 1:7: “Referring to the angels He says, [God] Who makes His angels winds and His ministering servants flames of fire.” We are flames of fire, burning with God’s love and compassion, and He wants us to touch other lives and set them ablaze! We are more than conquerors through Him who loves us!
Stir yourselves up…
“That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands [with those of the elders at your ordination].” 2 Timothy 1:6 (AMP)
Keep on stirring yourself up, building yourself up by:
- Praying in the Spirit (Jude 20) (1 Corinthians 14:14)
- Meditating in God’s Word (Joshua.1:8)
- Studying the Word (2 Timothy 3:16)
- Being a witness (Acts 1:8)
You can make a difference in your home, your church, your office or school, your town, your city. You have a spirit of power and boldness! Take a step of faith and operate in that boldness!
“In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides].” Ephesians 6:10 (AMP)
We all need to repent for not doing much more than we are doing, or have done, for the kingdom of God. We are called to be servants and witnesses, reconcilers of God and people - let’s return to our first love who gave His life for us. He is the only way for a world which has very little hope. It’s up to us to show them the way.
Thank you, Lord Jesus for showing us the way back to our heavenly Father.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
