The Leading Of The Spirit
”But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. 12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors - not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” Romans 8:11-14
The Spirit of God knows every person's need. If we will hear His voice and obey Him; we will be able to help family, friends and neighbors through the leading of the Spirit. We need to be tuned in to what the Spirit is saying to us, not only for our own personal needs and desires, but for the well-being of others as well.
The fullness of the Spirit
The Lord wants us to walk in the fullness of the Spirit and be saturated with the anointing (God's presence) and the glory of the Lord. He promises us in Numbers 14:21 "But truly, as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD."
As you meet and talk to family and friends, ask the Holy Spirit quietly what their deepest hurts and fears are. Many people have been carrying burdens since childhood but don't know or realize where the root of the problem lies. Listen to the Spirit with your inner ear (your spirit’s ear) - at first you might miss it, but don't let that stop you from seeking Him in a more intimate way. As you press in and fellowship with the Holy Spirit you will hear His voice as you stay sensitive to Him. We all need to grow up unto Christ who is the Head and follow His lifestyle when dealing with others; this will come by allowing the Spirit of God free access in and through our lives.
”To know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:19
I believe the fullness of God is for us to:
- Diffuse the Gospel and saturate the earth with the Word of God
Influence others’ lives toward righteousness
- Share Christ with all people
- Inspire others to do likewise
- Comfort the brokenhearted
- Accomplish God's will on the earth and
- Complete the work He started in us. Hallelujah!
”Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21
The power at work
The Spirit of God is the power at work in us - He is our Helper, our Guide, He is also the oil of gladness which is exceeding joy in and through our lives (Psalm 45:7 and Hebrews 1:9). Now we can be sensitive to His leading to touch others and set them free. We need to yield to the ceaseless supply of the Spirit and walk in the love of Christ which conquers all doubt, fear and everything that will hinder our walk in Him. By being led, guided, governed and controlled by the Spirit of God, we begin to walk in the fullness of God. Hallelujah!
The Bible says the Spirit gave life to every living, breathing creature on the earth (Genesis 7:22 and Romans 8:2). If this is so, then He knows what's best for us, He knows our strengths, our weaknesses, our hurts and pain; also what lifts us up and brings us down. This is the dispensation of the Spirit (“In Christian belief, a divine ordering or management of affairs and events in the world.” - Encarta Dictionary). We cannot afford to miss what the Spirit of God is saying to the individual and the church of the Lord Jesus Christ at large.
We must be bold and courageous in a world of fear, doubt and unbelief. In these times people are fearful of the future, of past failure and of those who are godless and lawless. This is why we have been given a spirit of power to stand firm against the forces of evil, and all that it stands for – we must counteract and thwart all evil.
People are not our enemy. The Bible says we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). From these scriptures it’s evident that life is a spiritual battle. You have to fight a spiritual battle with spiritual tactics. In facing life’s challenges, the leading of the Holy Spirit is your supernatural reconnaissance and His power is your ultimate weapon against the forces of darkness. If you don’t spend time learning to hear His voice, you’ll be operating practically blind in your spiritual walk. He’s always there waiting for you to tune in to Him so He can bless you abundantly and help you to overcome every circumstance.
He will never leave us nor forsake us
”...For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." 6 So we may boldly say: "The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?" Hebrews 13:5-6
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
