Reaching Out In Your Calling
by Bro. Peter Rahme
“Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:18
Not everyone is called to be an apostle, prophet, pastor or teacher, but every believer is called to do the work of an evangelist, to tell the world of the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
What is the good news of the gospel? The good news is that Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price for the salvation of the whole human race. The good news is that He bore their punishment and the penalty of eternal separation from God the Father. He was crucified on a cross (1 Peter 2:24) and became a curse for us. Now we can be made whole, healed, delivered and set free. Hallelujah!
Are you ashamed of the Gospel?
My prayer is that every believer in Christ will become bold and fearless in their witnessing for Jesus, and make a stand against the forces of darkness, enforcing Satan's defeat.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith." Romans 1:16-17
We have to become all things to all people to win them to Christ. How are we going to be able to stand before the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords one day, if we are ashamed to share His divine love and compassion? Jesus held nothing back from us but gave up His throne of glory to come to a people who were not worthy, who were lost in their sin and selfishness.
Jesus became the ultimate disgrace and was humiliated by hanging naked on a cross on the top of a hill for all to see, (Psalm 22:18 and Matthew 27:35). He became sin (2 Corinthians 5:21), He became a curse for us (Galatians 3:13), now we find ourselves hesitant to mention His name in public because someone will be embarrassed or offended, or that it is not "politically correct."
Come on, church it's time to wake up! There is a world out there where people are committing suicide, overdosing on drugs and alcohol and aborting innocent babies - to name just a few of the horrendous acts the devil is driving people to. We must never forget that we too had no hope before we met the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ. He is our hope and the hope of the world. Let's get out there and let the world know the truth of the gospel because that is what sets people free. Glory to the wonderful name of Jesus!
It never ceases to amaze me that we think that once we become a Christian we have to be quiet and reserved; “private” - about our faith in Christ. We either don't understand what He went through to purchase our salvation and freedom, or we have listened to a lie from someone who doesn't know any better.
“For the story and message of the cross is sheer absurdity and folly to those who are perishing and on their way to perdition, but to us who are being saved it is the [manifestation of] the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18 (AMP)
Jesus deserves our best
My friend, Jesus deserves every moment of our lives, take time out for Him, He will show you how to be effective, how to be bold and courageous in every area of your life. Remember, He holds our very lives, our future in the palm of His hand.
Think about this: when you meet Jesus face to face one day what would you prefer to hear Him say to you? “Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” (Matthew 25:23) OR “I never knew you; depart from Me." (Matthew 7:22-23)
Jesus wants us to use every method, every strategy possible to help people enter into His kingdom. We must show them that Jesus is the bridge that leads into the kingdom of God - He is the only mediator between God and man. (1 Timothy 2:5)
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
