A Testimony To The Glory Of Jesus Christ
by Bro. Peter Rahme

“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-2

Today is a very special day for PRM – it’s my 28th birthday! Yes, I was born-again 28 years ago today, also a Tuesday, on May 27th, 1980 and have lived for Jesus ever since. For those of you who don’t know me or my background I’ll share my testimony briefly.

The seventh of ten children, I grew up in a God-fearing home. When I was in my early twenties however, I became involved in a lifestyle of severe drug and alcohol abuse. I had begun using alcohol early in my teen years and the combination of alcohol and drugs culminated in a stranglehold on my life. In the years that followed, I narrowly escaped death several times; I was stabbed twice, shot at, and arrested for assaulting police. These were just a few of the situations I found myself in. The drug culture had given me an inferiority complex and I believed that my cache of firearms would protect me.

After living a life of recklessness, I began to cry out to God. On the May 27th, 1980 at twelve o’clock in the afternoon, in my kitchen in South Africa, I met the Prince of Peace. The Lord Jesus Christ delivered me instantly and said to me: “Rejoice, I have delivered you!” The Lord set me free not only from drugs and alcohol but also instantly healed my body of ulcers and arthritis! That was the beginning of my walk with Jesus and the journey that has taken me across Southern Africa, Europe and the United States.

As we look back over the years we are so grateful for the mighty hand of God upon this ministry. We have seen blind eyes and deaf ears open. People have been miraculously healed, lives have been changed, and minds restored. Most importantly, hundreds of thousands of documented souls have been saved from the torment of hell and will spend eternity with the Lord Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!

We have experienced the blessings and the heartache associated with evangelistic and missionary work but nonetheless, there is still an urgency to reach the lost with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. After 28 years of ministering the Word of God, do we sit back or slow down and “take it easy”? No, absolutely not! While the fields are white unto harvest (John 4:35) we must keep pressing on towards the mark of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

This is a race of endurance
“Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. 36 For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.”  Hebrews 10:35-36

Confidence in the above scripture also means boldness of speech (Strong’s Concordance). We have to be fearless in these last days. We must keep the faith with patience like Caleb of old, who was as bold as a lion and wholly followed the Lord.

“And now, behold, the LORD has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since the LORD spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old. 11 As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in. 12 Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the LORD spoke in that day…” Joshua 14:10-12

Your age or gender doesn’t matter – like Caleb, rise up, take your stand, fight the good fight of faith and run the race that is set before you. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, the captain of our salvation, the King of Kings and the Lord of all Lords. Hallelujah!

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
